Tiny Glass Beads…..
For me the love of tiny glass beads started at the tender age of 5!! Yep, that is right! I fell in love with making simple friendship bracelets (back in the 70’s they were popular too) and just couldn’t just do the braids/knots!! I quickly asked my mom for beads to add to them and as I handed out these bracelets in kindergarten I found a lifetime of passion!
I have always had my hand in crafts of some sort or another. There is always a blanket being crocheted, a cross stitch pattern being worked on or scrap book pages being put together! But for me it was always the jewelry that was the steady love! Throughout the years I made jewelry, but most of it was for myself or for gifts. Then about 11 years ago I decided to turn my passion into a full time business and Krafty Max Originals was born! Although my passion has always been more in the beadweaving side of jewelry I also enjoy creating stranded jewelry as well.
Over the past few years I have be perfecting my beadweaving skills and creating more on the side of artwork (along with my jewelry) for my customers! I have to say that I am very proud to say that all of my creations are OOAK (one of a kind) from the design of the pattern to the finished beadwork! Off – loom peyote has been my staple for the last few years. But, with this amazing program that I am now a part of I get to try my hand in traditional loom weaving….and let me just say….so far….I’m LOVING IT!!
Because this is my business/passion I am lucky enough to be able to create and bead full time! This means that even though I am at home each day I treat it like a business and spend from 830am to 500pm on my beadwork. The evenings and the weekends belong to my family….if I have time I bead then too!! J
