The Shop Small Sale
This year, our Big Sale is a Shop Small Sale rather than a Black Friday or Cyber Monday Sale. It may not seem like a significant distinction, but we wanted to emphasize that when you buy a Mirrix you’re supporting a small, family company as well as the amazing people with (and without) mental and physical disabilities at Sunshine House where each of our looms are made.
This sale is a big one; you could save over $100 on just one loom; but we hope you feel good about more than just the savings as you Shop Small through Monday.

Here are a few reasons why I’m shopping small this year. I hope you join me, whether it’s at Mirrix Tapestry & Bead Looms or another small business.
1.) The personal connection. Recently I happened upon an adorable local store that I’d never been to and spent some time chatting with the owner and looking through the painstakingly-curated inventory for a gift. The owner asked me questions about the person I was buying for and helped me make my decision. That personal connection made all the difference for me, and I felt like the gift meant more than if I’d shopped at a bigger store with less individualized service.
2.) Helping the little guy. It isn’t easy to survive as a small business. In fact, 8 out of 10 businesses fail within the first 18 months in the United States. It feels good to choose to spend your money to directly support the little guys!
3.) Knowing someone cares. At a small company, every sale counts and most likely you’re dealing with someone who truly cares about your customer experience. That means if you have a problem, you know you’ll be taken care of.
4.) Getting a Unique Gift. I remember being a kid and wanting exactly what everyone else had. Sure, I appreciated the handmade doll my mom found at a craft fair, but it wasn’t quite as cool as the one from the big box toy store. Now that I’m an adult, I love unique gifts. Sure, I could buy a coat with a fancy name brand, but I’d rather buy from the outerwear start-up down the street (seriously, this is the best jacket ever.)
