Some More Gift Ideas
This is an older bracelet That incorporates: gold thread, size 8/0 beads, magnatamas (those long beads), size 15/0 beads for the edges and an ultra-suede backing. I wove rows of just beads, just silk in a random pattern. The gold when woven looks like gold metal. It’s gorgeous and glows. It was acutally a very easy piece to weave. I then backed it with ultra suede and created a clasp from a loop of beads and a peyote tube. A very elegant additon to your holiday wardrobe.
A very different style but using the same concept for backing with ultra-suede. This one has a kind of Western flair. I used a combination of size 11/0 seed beads, size 8/0 seed beads and 4mm crystals. I set the warp to accommodate the 4mm crystals which are the biggest elements. Three 11/0 beads fit in the that space; two 8/0 beads fit in that space. I edged it with size 11/0 seed beads and used a mother-of-pearl button for the finding which is inserted into an O-ring wrapped in hand-painted silk. Bracelets like this one sell for hundreds of dollars so why not make your own!
This sweet little bracelet incorporates two-hole square beads, 8/0 and 11/0 beads, porcelain beads woven on a hand-painted silk warp. It is finished with a peweter button and a hand-painted silk covered O-ring.
The same theme but with different beads. The peyote clasp encircles the silk ends so you can slide it on your wrist. We call this an affinity bracelet.
Another affinity bracelet with very different beads also woven on a hand-painted silk warp.
I will be exploring more options for holiday gifts such as ornaments, necklaces, small purses and whatever comes to mind and blogging as I go!
