Tapestry Weaving
Little Tapestry
Elena asked me to weave a tiny tapestry. I warped the loom at 7 ends per inch, putting the warp in every other dent of the 14 dent loom. For this I used 3-ply Paternayan needlepoint yarn. In some places I mixed the single plies of different colors. This piece took me less than two hours to weave and about fifteen minutes to finish. It is now hanging on Elena’s wall.
We are going to be selling the paternayan yarn on our website in selected color packages. I am still picking out the colors.

Elena suggested I make even smaller ones and stick magnets on the back. Maybe you should try that and show us your results!

Actually, format refers to the size of the piece. Small format is in the US usually under 15 by 15 inches. More normally 100 square inches or under. Scale refers to sett and weft size. SO you can have small format at a large scale or small format at a small scale.

Thank you so much Lani and C. This is exactly what we needed to inspire us to weave. Mac’s left arm tires and gets sore from the surgery. This is perfect to strengthen his arm while using the Spencer. Anxious to try the new wool and see if it is the same as the old. Thank you again, this is perfect! xoxo
