My name is Deb. I’m retired and weave tapestries that I gift to people who I think need them. I often weave images of people’s pets or something else that is important to them. Giving and sharing what I weave gives me much joy. I have also gifted Mirrix Looms to family members in hope that they would enjoy the process of weaving with yarn or beads.
I have 5 Mirrix looms plus I recently upgraded to an electric treadle, which is a great accessory to have! My next purchase will be loom extenders to allow me to make longer pieces. I love the fact that Mirrix looms are made by the folks at Sunshine House, which offers supported employment to people with physical and mental disabilities.
I belong to the American Tapestry Alliance and I recommend becoming a member if you are interested in tapestry weaving. They are a great group of artists promoting the craft through workshops, mentorship, shows and other on and offline events. There is lots of information on their website http://americantapestryalliance.org.
Bringing happiness to others through my artwork is a wonderful feeling, and I encourage others to spread the love!
